The Management, Spirituality and Religion (MSR) Interest Group of the Academy of Management connects many hundreds of kindred spirits across the globe in collaborating on leading-edge research, publications, dialog, and practices around the nature, role, and influence of spirituality and religion in management and organizations.
Not only are we home to many of the world's preeminent academics, scholars, and researchers in this area, but our members include like-minded students, practitioners, thought-leaders, business professionals, public servants, consultants, and many others from a variety of interdisciplinary fields, institutions, and industries. domain statement
Our formal MSR domain is as follows: "The study of the relationship and relevance of spirituality and religion in management and organizations. Major topics include: theoretical advances or empirical evidence about the effectiveness of spiritual or religious principles and practices in management, from approaches represented in the literature including religious ethics, spirituality and work, and spiritual leadership, as well as applications of particular religions, and secular spiritualities to work, management/leadership, organization, and the business system; and evaluation studies of the effectiveness of management approaches that nurture the human spirit in private, non-public or public institutions."(Original created December 1999; re-approved August 2000)
